Post: disrespect in Charlottesville

okay, this is an example of a total lack of respect and understanding of our first amendment right. Me and a bunch of friends live in Charlottesville, Va. we got bored one friday and decided to start writing on the downtown mall in chalk. after a while, little kids started chalking, people were drawing smiley faces and everyone was having fun. and best of all...we weren't bored. later on that day, the cops showed up and took away our chalk, putting it the back of the police car. they told us it was destruction of public property. then, for a couple of hours, they sat on top of the buildings downtown and watched us, writing down every wrong thing we did. after awhile, they came down and gave out tickets to nearly half the kids who were down there.
