    This isn't even a first amendment issue.

    Do you have a right to your opinion? Yes. Do you have the right
    to post it all over the internet if you so desire? Yessiree Bob.

    Does this protect you from termination? No. An employer can
    terminate you for anything not related to protected class (race,
    religion, sex, and so on). You made a poor choice. It was
    absolutely your choice to make. But freedom of speech has
    consequences. If I choose to call my boss a name on a public
    street, it's my right. It's his right to tell me that I'm not
    representing our company in a positive manner and can my butt.

    And I wouldn't blame him. Freedom of speech is a right - not an
    excuse for bad behavior.
