Post: the pain

ohhh the pain these unconstitutional laws are causing on me and many thousands of good people across the country. How can the government pass a law such as the lautenberg amendment keeping guns away from a person because of a d.v. conviction? I plead guilty to one in 1994 while I was on a police force, which I resigned in 01/96. I applied in another state and they informed me they could not hire me due to the new law. Is this new law not an ex-post facto law when it comes to someone like me who was convicted prior to the law. I know the Supreme court said it is not an ex-post facto law since you aren't being punished for the original crime only owning a weapon (a felony. Well it would not be a felony nor a crime if it had not been for the prior conviction, so then isnt this an ex=post facto law? If so, how the heck can they get awy with it, and why do we let them?
