Re: Restoring Rights to own/carry firearms

I was convicted of two non-violent felony charges 20 years
ago, making me a prohibited possessor under federal and thus
    state law.

I petitioned for and recieved a full and unconditional
pardon from the governor of the state where I was
convicted. I then applied for a concealed weapons permit in
my state of residence and recieved my permit within 10 days.
    I now carry a firearm 24/7.

In my opinion anything short of a pardon leave you at risk
for federal charges. If you did not have representation for
your DV offense you may have specific exceptions.

Above all else, GO SEE A LAWYER WHO IS LICENSED TO PRACTICE
IN YOUR STATE. I can tell you what I did (and I actually
restored my firearms rights so I can talk about it with some
authority) but no one here can or should tell you what YOU
    should do.

It can be done. Best of luck.
