If it is really important for you to get the FOID card and you really are legally eligible, you
need an Illinois lawyer to advise you. I know that is money you don't want to spend but it is
the only hope. I don't live in Illinois so my knowledge of the courts and process is very
limited. Our state has something similar only more restrictive. It is called a "permit to
acquire." You need a permit before you can buy any gun even a single shot 22 rifle. If you are
once denied it is very difficult to overcome the denial but it can be done unless you have a
criminal record or serious diagnosis of mental problems.

Sorry to say, you will not get the legal help you need on this board. You will just attract
individuals that want to poke fun at you.

This is the best advice you will get here: Get legal help from an Illinois lawyer familiar
with the FOID application and appeal process or bury your anger and frustration over the denial
and leave it all behind and move on with your life. I was serious when I mentioned that other
states have less restrictive laws. If owning a gun is that important to you, you can probably
legally do so in states other than Illinois.
