It appears you did not report a crime or allowed some
innocent person to take the rap. There is a Duty owed by
all employers to hire compentent employees that will not
endanger other workers or the public. Employers are under
Vicarious liability (let the boss take the rap for employees
unlawful acts). So when an employer hires a person they
look to see if there will be any liability associated with
having this person under them.
If a person has a misdemeanour of assault the company is
liable for any violent act or any criminal act such as
theft. Because they KNEW the person to have violent
and "Criminal" tendencies. A bank will not hire a person
with Bankrupcy because they knew the person might take money
of their customers.
Now your problem Leslie the felon. Lets see would an
employer hire you for a child care position? There would be
high amount of liability in this. Would a bank hire a felon
again very high liability the bank will face. A counseling
job for drug addicts again high liability.
The answer is Leslie you will have to find an employer
willing to accept the high liability of Knowledge ciminal
felony working with them and they will have to hope you
never ever going to commit any kind of wrong. A wrong such
as a mistake.
Now Leslie there is something call Expungement or sealing a
record or pardon which will make it more difficult to
get "Knowledge" of this crime. This is your best defense to
your predictament
