Post: DETC

I don't see why some people are so concerned about DETC accreditation for law schools. While I realize that it is a national accrediting agency, it does not mean much for law students other than allowing them to apply for federal loans. Concord and the others who are seeking acceptance, should be looking to California Bar approval and WASC accreditation. That would make a difference. Cal Bar accreditation would excempt first year students from the Baby Bar and assure future employers that the law school is up to Cal Bar standards. WASC accreditation is important if you want the degree to be of value other than for bar exam purposes. I realize online law schools need to start somewhere, but it should be important for prospective students to know they are paying a lot of money for accreditation that is of no real use. That is my two cents.
