    The cost for DETC accredition is peanuts.

    The application requirements are nothing.

    Regional accreditation is VERY EXPENSIVE.

    Its time consuming and tons of paperwork.

    Hiring of accreditation consultants,etc.

    Those law schools just dont see the return
    on their investment for regional accrediation.

    Finally, there is NO connection to regional
    accredition and Cal Bar accreditation.

    Many Cal Bar accredited schools do not
    have regional and regional will not
    lead to State Bar accreditation.

    At this time, politically within the
    Cal State Bar they are under pressure
    TO NOT ACCREDIT correspondence schools.
