Post: adderall and an IL. FOID

I'll try to keep it simple.
I have no criminal record at age 55.
Was an FFL holder for 13 years long before I got ill.
At 53 I was diagnosed with severe clinical depression.
Voluntarily checked myself into, what I was told was a
"stress ward", seeking counseling and or medication to
help.
Turned out to be a Mental ward full of drug addicts,
alcoholics and pretty much nut cases who came and went
regularly like it was their 2nd home. Not what I was
looking for so I left the next day AMA. As a result my FOID
was revoked.
State of IL. wants a shrink to sign off saying I am no
threat to myself or others by legally possessing firearms
and ammo. Never was any threat before depression, during or
currently and don't expect to be.
After about 8 different anti-depressant failures, new doc
treating me as ADHD with adderall. For the first time in
3.5 years I am getting relief and able to enjoy life again.
It will be 2 years in January since they jerked the card.
Before I waste money on a shrink, can you tell me if
adderall will keep me from getting my FOID back?
If so, I can get off the adderall and stay depressed and
own my guns again; pretty much my life prior to trying to
get some real help.
Thank you.
