giulio, the 3 first paragraphs say it all, depending on your cases and
what your charges consist of,if you file for an expungement and your
expungement is awarded to you,you now have the right to own a
gun, before this wasnt so because the federal government didnt recognize
state expungements but the gun lobbyist pushed for a true
expungement, meaning,if you are going to give someone a second chance
than that means everything including the right to bear arms, you can
read it for youself, just type in 18 usc 921 a-20 and you will read that
an expungement clears you of ever being convicted, also if you live in
new jersey and were convicted of misdeamenor domestic violence ander
the lautenberg law it was that you could never posess again but the
statue 18 usc 921 a-20 covers that also, which i am in the process of
doing,my friend was convicted of i beleive cocaine with intent and also
for removing serial #'s from a gun he did 7 years.its been 10 years
since than and he is now in the process of expunging his state and
federal charges which will allow him to once again posess!! fella's
dont give up hope unfortunately sometimes some people make mistakes,me
included talk to an attorney and dont go by what you were arrested
for,go by what you were convicted of,here in new jersey it costs $52.50
to file for an expungement and its simple to do,you can file it as mant
times as you need if it doesnt get granted just remember you can only
be expunged once in a life time,i hope i have helped someone out.
