Re: Restoring Gun Rights Washington State
Posted by kevind on 8/26/08

You discuss other state's laws, yet this is about Washington. Is it possible to
restore our Federal rights working through the court system of another state, if
we happen to reside in Washington?

I assume you speak only regarding a pardon from Washington State since that was
    the root of this thread?

Each State has its own conditions and restrictions on Pardons and not every
State requires the Pardon document to expressly state that firearms disabilities
    are removed.

In Alaska, unless the pardon document states any restrictions it is
presumptively a full and unconditional pardon and State AND federal firearms
disabilities are removed. NICS and NCIC are in fact updated and the person is
no longer a felon under the law.

In Arizona, the court can restore firearms rights without the need for a pardon.
Since the federal prohibited possessor laws make provisions for State
restorations of firearms rights if Arizona gives you back your gun rights then
    the feds are happy.
