Dear Representative Powell,

You are right! Act 853 should be defeated. We already
have too many laws! The legislature passes almost a
thousand new laws every year. That is an alien practice
to the Civil Law System that Louisiana used to have until
the Louisiana Law Explosion of recent years. Now
Louisianians are awash in an ocean of laws, so much so
that only those trained in electronic and other legal
research can access the thousands and thousands of
Louisiana laws that every man and woman is presumed to
know. Please lead an effort in the legislature to
persuace it to quit passing so many laws. And thanks for
responding to Billy Miller's plea to vote against House
Bill 853.
