Not true! Hardy Parkerson was not disbarred. He did have the ODC come down on him to attempt to summarily suspend him from practicing law, but he made a deal to resign his law license to buy time to shut down his busy law practice. Hardy was probably the most honest lawyer I have ever known; and I know from experience that most lawyers are basically honest. They have to be: everything they do is in writing and documented and pretty much a matter of public record. Hardy's problem was that he was a political activist with a law license and he was speaking out publicly about the break down of the criminal justice and other justice systems in Louisiana, and in his home county--they call them parishes in Louisana--and, also, he was speaking out about the wrongness of the IOLTA system whereby Bar Foundations' take the interest off of lawyers' clients' money held in attorney trust accounts by their lawyers, as if it were their own and spending and using it as they saw/see fit.
