    Post: HELP

Posted by Joe Swanson on 7/18/09

I am currently going for a Fire Protection Inspector
(provisional) position with the FDNY. My problem is that I
was disqualified back in 1996 from the NYPD hiring process
because as a young man I had periods of unemployment, but
have never been arrested. Can this past disqualification
affect me now? especially since I was laid off in March
2009, which is something I did not have any control over and
has the amount of time they- FDNY go back to high school?
since when? I was told by alot of people they only go back
five years for special patrolmen. Thank you for any and all
    info.
