Post: '05 law school grad, haven't taken bar, how to get started?

I graduated law school in '05, but never took the bar.
Now I'm seriously considering pursuing law, but not sure
how to get started. I will need about 1 year to study for
the bar. I prefer to get a legal job during this time,
like legal assistant. But seems like they all require
experience. Any advice on how to proceed?
