Post: November 2005 MPRE
Posted by JoeStanley on 11/04/05
I just took the MPRE, and I thought it was really difficult. I've passed three bar exams on the first try (NY, NJ & CT), but this last MPRE leaves me wondering if I'll have to take it again. I've been practicing for 13 years in NY & NJ and took the July exam for Connecticut. I studied for the MPRE and thought I knew the rules, but the questions were all subtle gradations with a close choice between two answers. I just want to rant a little: The people who put this exam together are jerks. In the real world you only have to know the basic rules, because if you are faced with an ambiguous situation, you look up the actual rule or call the jurisdictions' ethics hotline and get an opinion. So they ought to be testing the basic rules with straight forward fact patterns. This exam was full of BS and if I flunked I'm gonna complain (as if it would do any good). Anyway, that's my rant. Thanks for listening. --Joe.
