    Post: CA. Realtor Misrepresentation

    Posted by Joseph on 11/25/03

i recently was purchasing a home. My realtor brought
papers to sign and i signed them so that the sellers could
sign the offer. The sellers realtor said "verbally" that
the offer was accepted but the sellers were out of town but
dont worry it is a done deal. I was told this thru my
realtor every day for 5 days (yes i should have seen
something was wrong) the 4th day i was told to go ahead and
handle my business because the house is "ours". so i sold
my half of my house to my roomate and made arrangements for
me to move out of my house by the end of the month. on the
5th day i was called and said that we have been "screwed"
adn they accepted another offer. I told my realtor that i
didnt understand this because in the beginning i said i d
pay whatever it took to get me into that house. Did my
realtor misrepresent me. Is there any legals steps
    i can take? thank you
