Post: Workmans Comp Claim outside of work

    Posted by Concerned on 9/15/04

I know someone who was injured on an annual golf outing
sponsored by our employer. It is for all employee's, we
have to pay 20.00 to the company and in return we get food,
golf, drinks and fun. I was injured on the golf course not
by anyones neglegince, but by my golf bag. I believe I
need surgery, but have no insurance. Will workmans comp
cover this injury since it was a (voluntary) work
function? I don't want to see a doctor on my own as I will
be eligible for insurance in 75 days but don't know if I
can wait that long. Also, how long do I have to file an
injury report if this would be a possible claim. Please
    help!!! Thank you!
