Post: selling on ebay

Posted by Steve on 9/03/06

Hi, I am a artist here on the oregon coast. I just started
selling on ebay. And yesterday I got a ticket for 1800$
for failer to obtain a occupation tax permit and failer to
obtain a permit home occupation. I carve at my house and
only as a hobbie. Figuered ebay was a great way to sell
some of my carvings without opening a bussiness in town.
Is there any laws about this for ebay? And isn't there a
law about how much money you can make off your hobby
before it becomes a bussines? And if I got a ticket
shouldnt everyone thats lives in my town that sells on
ebay get a ticket also not that I want them to but I feel
singeled out becouse me nieghbor doesnt like me. He is the
person that called the cops on me for selling my art on
    ebay. Please help.
    Thank,Steve
