Post: credit/background check without consent

Not sure if this is something I should contact an attorney
about.
My boyfriends ex-girlfriend has decided to do a background
and credit check on me through the financial institution
she works for, and this is obviously without my consent. I
want to call her employer to let them know she has done
this as I am sure it breaks some sort of privacy agreement
she made when getting the job, as well as putting marks on
my great credit. What is the best way for me to proceed?
