Post: Changing Contract Terms

Posted by Ken Murray on 2/04/09

Hi, I'm a consultant and have a contract that states that
I get paid in 45 days regardless whether or not the
company I am going through gets paid. Now 5 months later
they are trying to change the terms to I get paid when
they get paid and are pretty much forcing the issue. I
don't want this change as it might force me to carry
expenses for a longer period of time.

What are my options if they are pretty much telling me
this is the way it is going forward? Are they breaking
the contract? Can I demand other changes like removing
the non-compete if they demand their change? Any
    direction is greatly appreciated!
