Post: Software copyright

Posted by Ron on 8/23/08

    I have 2 questions:

    1. Can you copyright a custom database created by using
    Microsoft Access?

    2. I designed a custom database to be used to help
tracking information at a large bank service center. This
project started by my initiative and was done mostly on my
own time. The database was implemented 2 months ago and
has been integrated into normal business procedures. To
date I have not received compensation for my project. I
am a low level manager and the creation of a database is
far outside the realm of normal business. I have been
informed that executive management would like to take the
database nationally at many other service sites. In the
event I am able to copyright my work, do I have any legal
footing regarding the use of the database and compensation
    for it?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance provided!
