Post: DA detective threatens a 13 year old for more DNA

Posted by Mary on 7/28/07
Hi,
My daughter is an alleged victim of child molestation.
This happened in 2006. The day the suspect was arrested,
DNA was taken from my daughter.
Several months pass and a detective from the DA's
telephones saying tests results came back BUT there's
something wrong. He won't tell me what's wrong with DNA
test results. Wants more DNA from my daughter and has to
be done within next 48 hours. I ask if this can wait two
weeks as there are exactly two weeks left of school and
with final exams coming up, I don't want to stress my
daughter by bringing this up now.
I talk to my daughter and she freaks out and refuses to
go. I call back detective and he threatened to take my
daughter out of school, take her into custody, get a
search warrant and do whatever is necessary to get DNA out
of her. He said it's done all the time and that judges
allow this all the time. He even said he would tie my
daughter to a chair and do whatever it takes to get her
DNA.
What are my daugher's rights in this???
