Post: Leaving USA with credit card debt...Is Extraditable?

Posted by Mishad on 9/20/09
I have about 82K in credit card debt and a car loan. I was married in Peru last year and will be going back there to live as I am about to lose my job here in the USA. I was wondering if this is an extraditable offense and if so would they go through the effort to do it for credit card debt? I supppose they could somehow make a case it was fraud if I didnt fill out every application perfectly but I had no intention of stealing the money and leaving to country to live in Peru. I have been making payments since I got into this debt. Mostly it stems from Drug and alcohol abuse, gambling, bad decisions, etc. Happy for any and all feedback as I am really sweating out what to do. As I said I was married in Peru and have a temporary resident card waiting for me when I go back. Thanks
