Re: Expunged Record... really expunged?

I am not quite sure about the law in Texas. Just as I said, it will be difficult to wipe off your record once it is there. In some state, if the defendant is convicted, there is no chance to expunge it at all. I know it is unfair to people, especially to some young adults who make mistakes, but this is the situation, there is nothing you can do about it. So, as I said, run a criminal background check on your own The first thing you can do is to go to the police department which arrested you to run a background check, then go to www.publicdata.com to do it again, the last thing is to go to Texas criminal database custodian to run a self background check. If all of them show the record, you probably have to find a job which doesn't require background check. BTW, how the case was settled, if you went through pretrial diversion, the case should not be reported. In addition to that, were you arrested or just summoned to the court, if you were not arrested, most likely you were not reported by the police department.
