Post: Felony drug charge 4 years old

Posted by Lori on 5/20/08

I recently became aware of a woman completing a four year
sentence in Kansas for felony drug charges. She is
scheduled to be released in July 2008. She was recently
transported back to county jail to face more charges.
Apparently, the DA did not prosecute her for all the crimes
she had committed 4+ years ago. He is now bringing those
charges against her now that her sentence is almost
complete. 1) Is there a statute of limitations in Kansas
re: drug charges what is it? 2) Do different rules apply
for those already incarcerated than for others? 3) Is
there a term for what is being done in this particular
    case? Thank you.
