    I can't advise on Texas law but in many jurisdictions you
    must be brought to trial within 6 months of your arrest or
    your constitutional right to a speedy trial is considered to
    have been denied. However, if you in any way contributed to
    the delay the limitation is tolled (cut off). So if you
    asked the court for a delay to gather evidence or any other
    reason for your benefit, the 6 month limitation is stopped
    for the time you delayed.

    You need a local TX lawyer to sort this out dude. This is
