Re: NWCU Law

Here is a little about my experience there back in '97-'98.
(Note: this was before the internet became such a valuable
resource to law students)
I past the first year school exams, but came up just short
on the Baby Bar Exam. Discouraged, I did not bother to re-
take the exam, nor return to NWCU.
The NWCU program has always been cost-effective, and the
staff and attorneys were friendly enough. However, I felt
afterwards that they had not provided enough guidance, and
that the materials they provided were poorly organized and
overwhelming in quantity. Most importantly, they did not
tell me precisely what I should be spending my scarce time
studying.
If I knew then what I know now. I have no doubt that I
would have succeeded the first time. The good news is will
the CBE's liberal rules, I am still eligible to sit for the
Baby Bar Exam. So, I am going to take Fleming's advice and
concentrate primarily on memorizing and applying the rules
of law. Most, importantly I am going to work on my
analytical writing skills through making review outlines and
doing many, many practice exam questions. Read Fleming's
article, "The Law School Process" at:

Once I pass the Baby Bar, I'll be able to transfer to
another correspondence school, probably West Coast (which
has had a couple of the most high-profile, recent
correspondence school graduates--one who is a successful DC
lawyer, and another who is suing the
Massachusetts/Connecticutt bars to allow correspondence
graduates to sit for the bar exam in those states.
