Re: LL.M degree will not get you bar admission

    Hi MATU-- sorry, I've been away.

    I would advise that you not rely on the ABA site with regards to specific states'
    admission requirements. You need to go to the state itself, as this info is always in
    flux. Check here for CA-- http://calbar.ca.gov/calbar/pdfs/rules/Rules_Title4_Div1-Adm-
    Prac-Law.pdf. You'll see with with a foreign LLB, you're going to need a year at an ABA
    or "other approved" law school to sit the CA exam.

    Read the NY, VA, and RI sites similarly, very carefully. Again, do not look at the ABA
    site. The ABA does not determine state law.

    If your LLB is from a distance learning school, you're going to have a really difficult
    time with some work in an ABA school.
