    Post: HELPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Posted by Edwina on 3/10/04

I work at a unversity as a full time employee, I also take
classes as a full time student (because I get a discount).
I did not pay my bill last semester but I had been paying
on it (but stopped--hey, because I have bills). Now, the
university I work for has been calling me--on the job,
threatening to garnish my wages etc. They have not gone
through any type of protocol with me except to say "if you
dont pay, we are going to take the money out of your
check." Is this legal? If I were just a student, it would
have gone to a collection agency and that would have been
the end of it. I have owed before, but I always pay it off
because, of course, if I want to take classes again I have
to pay them. Is it legal for them to do this to me and
call me on the job??? I feel like they are doing it only
because I am an employee at the university and they think I
    wont put up a fight.
