Post: False Police Report - Can the case be dismissed?

I have been arrested for petit theft at a K-Mart store after purchasing (and paying for) several items, one of which turned out to have a different product in the box - and with the price about twice as much as the one I actually bought (about $11 more). However, the officer making an arrest wrote in the report, from the words of the store manager, that I have been arrested after I left the store with the concealed item without paying for it at all. The store manager took away and kept the receipt and refunded the moneys that I paid for all the goods, and after I asked for the receipt back, the officer said that it's not open for negotiations, handcuffed me and took out to the police car. However, they took two polaroids of the item from the box AND the box itself, so maybe this can indirectly help me? Can the case be dismissed based on the gross misrepresentation of the facts in the police report? Is there anything that I can do to help myself in this case? Thank you for any information you can provide.
