First, I say "thank you" to M'sta Mikey for taking the time to
reply to my post. I appreciate the frankness and the
    information contained in the response.

Second, I understand that I cannot just end a court order with
a letter. At the time of writing the letter I was 21, very
naive and without legal counsel and my actions were rash to say
    the least.

But in my letter I added if my understanding is incorrect (in
regards to the woman marrying and no longer wishing my support
ends my financial responsibilities) to please contact me and I
would resume payments. I have maintained the same address for
    over ten years.

My goal is not to jump arrears but to be allowed to keep paying
them which requires my passport being renewed so that I
continue my current employment overseas. Had I been contacted
when the debt was at $5,000 or even $10,000 this would not be
an issue. But because the debt was over $50,000 when I was
finally contacted, the situation is dire.

My question is does the Friend of the Court have any due
process responsibilities to contact the defendent when they
certify a passport? Again, any information you can share with
    me will be greatly appreciated.
