I am glad to see MBNA go into the ditch after being taken over
by Bank of America over a year ago. Some time ago, I had some
credit cards that were formerly PNC, then taken over by MBNA.
I had fallen on some hard times; I had lost a well paying job
a few years earlier due to the place being acquired. I had
difficulty paying my credit card bills in a timely manner;
after that, both were charged off and picked up by either a
collections firm or a law firm that deals with collections. I
had an encounter with Wolpoff & Abramson about five years ago
concerning a judgment issued against me by former MBNA. A
year ago, I received a windfall after losing my father to
heart disease; I settled the MBNA debt for a compromised
amount, and now everything is OK. I did work for MBNA part-
time about eight years ago after the insurance company was
acquired; I never really liked the place. It's good to know I
won't have any more encounters with former MBNA nor Wolpoff &
Abramson.
