I have been receiving daily recorded messages on my home phone for over two months from Wolpoff & Abramson that begins "This is a message for [someone I don't know whose quite-common last name is the same as mine]. The message says if I am not this person, please hang up immediately. Well, that will certainly protect his privacy and eliminate my aggravation! Then it goes on, and on, and on with numbers to call. One number is to let them know I am not the person they're after. I've called, and called, and called.... I've tried blocking their number--they slime their way past the block. I am fortunate to have very good credit, and must come to the conclusion that W&A are unprofessional, nasty, unethical and inefficient, among other things. I've seen friends go through debt problems, but nothing like this. I googled W&A to find this site and many others containing discouraging information by and about being victimized by these mal-programmed, overpaid robots. All I can think of to do is offer sympathy to its victims, get an unlisted number, and make sure that I do not do business with anyone who patronizes them. good luck out there. > On 9/06/06, Kay wrote: >> About 5 months ago, Wolpoff & Abramson sent a collection >> notice to my mother regarding a debt owe to MBNA. >> Immediately, we knew that the debt does not belong to my >> mother becasue she does not speak, read, or write English. >> She could not have applied for any credit card.
