Post: due process and law enforcement

I'm studying a case in the western district of NC , where they have just about seemingly done away with "due process". The case at bar " my felon is picked up in front his home , driving without license. For very ambigous reasoning the home was then searched with what appears to be a phony search warrant. " My problem they arrest my guy six months later claiming to have taken a firearm from this a KNOWN FELON , who is on federal probation at the time.Where would 'due process' compell these officers to charge this felon with the guns in a reasonable time frame?
