Post: juvinile rights violated during arrest
Posted by lynn on 2/17/07
During the arrest of a juvinile child age 16, the police showed up at the residence and arrested the child without any warrent. A detective was present. He was informed by the parent to read the child their rights and not to question the child without the attorney or parent there. The police proceeded to take the child and informed the parent they would call them when they where done with the child not allowing the parent to be present. The detective questioned the child anyway and charged the child with breaking into a car and stealing jewery solely on the word of the person who was caught pawning the jewery. This is the second instance this police departmenthas violated this childs rights.
