Re: bank accounts being froze

If you're concerned that someone has your husband's bank
account details (maybe he made a payment from his account to
them?) and they will take money from it, then, personally, I
would forget what the law might or might not allow regarding
an alleged creditor's access to your husband's bank account,
and I would have him open a new one.
He can do this at the same branch. The point is to change,
ASAP, the checking account details that anyone he wrote a
check to could use to take money from his account.
I say this because it's pretty common knowledge that many
creditors/debt collection firms will simply steal money from
any bank account they have access to and then let the person
they stole the money from prove that they did anything wrong.
If you haven't given out your husband's bank account details,
and you're worried that he will be liable for debts that
you've incurred, then you must visit a local lawyer.
Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances give your own
or your husband's checking account details to any debt
collector/creditor. Paying debt collectors by check simply
exposes you to an unnecessary and highly probable risk of
theft.
