Post: arbitration & debt resolution

Posted by zelda on 11/27/07

I recently received an arbitration letter from one of my
major credit cards -- actually a legal firm they turned over
my account to -- since I enrolled in a debt resolution
program in July...which is when I stopped making
payments...they have refused to work with me and the debt
resolution program...so, I am new to this arbitration stuff,
but from what I am reading, I am done for before I
respond...I am trying to pay back my debts, but if they
    garnish my wages or whatever...what a nightmare...is
bankruptcy the better answer? I can show that I am serious
about paying back my debts, and that I have already started
paying back several creditors thru this program...but would
they care? I don't think they give a rat's behind about
hearing my side of the story...am I right? What recourse do
we have? This is soooo scary...
