Post: Wolpoff and Abramson --court TOMORROW!

Hi!
I posted a month and a half ago about a 3 year outstanding
credit card debt with MBNA (now FIA card services) who is
taking me to court on Dec 18 (tomorrow ) to confirm an
arbitration award (one that I was never able to respond to
as they were sending it to the wrong address).
I have hired a lawyer and filed an opposition, and my last
minute question is this...........I had assumed that this
needed to be a court APPEARANCE but apparently in
California neither the lawyer nor myself needs to go, this
is argued by my lawyer over the phone? Is anyone able to
confirm that this is the case? It is not that I do not
trust my lawyer, but he is in court today and unable to
confirm this information, which is what his legal
assistant is telling me.
I just don't want to be a no-show for anything at this
point, or get bad information at the wrong time.
