Post: medication

Posted by brian on 2/05/08

    Hello,

yes, i was recently pulled over, i would say about a month
ago, and unfortunately, for some reason the cop felt the
need to search my buddies car ( i am passenger) so my
buddie concents to searching the car, and they take him
out, after a breif pat down he is placed on the side walk,
i am taken out of the car and the officers did the same
brief patt down, and felt an object underneath my
clothing, I tryed to tell the officer that he was hurting
me , and instead of stopping, he reaches down my pants
and pulled out unfortunately, some bag of illicit
contraband. so i come here to ask, a question. after the
officer found that. i was placed under arrest and braught
to the station, they asked me my name address basic info,
But (this is key) i clearly remember the sargent, asking
me if i took any perscription drugs, I being a bit shook
up, said no of course not , i do not take perscription
drugs, ( as if he meant abuse them., i.e taking pills not
perscribed to me) but than (this is the funny part) he
specifically asked me , no, to you need to take and meds,
as in for and conditons, i told him that i did take an
anti convulsant perscription, for a very serious
condition, and he asked do i need them right now and i
said my usual dossage is before i go to bed, so it depends
on how long im here, he said ok, we'll take care of that,
then then proceeded to interogate me, telling me the
weight of my contraband, and I asked to see it and they
reply "no, our equiptment is right on, you don't need to
see it" and futher questioned me for probably 1 to 1 1/2
hours, keep in mind we were pulled over and i was arrested
at 11:20 pm and i was finally put in a holding cell with
no requested drink of water, NO ANTI CONVULSANT PILLS, and
no phone call to anyone, wich i asked for very politely
many times, so after this i am released all of the sudden
at 5:30am on a Prommise to Appear, nearly 6 hours later,
not having my medication, luckily nothing happened to me
medically, but i can , at the snapof a finger have 25
doctors get it in writing that it is imperitive to me
health and safety that i be on his medication,
consistantly, due to a condition, and sudden stop of this
medication is not good at all either, i was wondering if
this could possibly be grounds to file a law suit againts
the towns police department, overall I wasn't impressed
with the police task force in this particular area, they
could care less about anything, very sloppy i believe.
