Post: Charging discrimination on former employer

    Posted by Tricia on 12/14/05

I have not worked for the company for three years due to an
injury but the last day I worked I happen to notice I was
discriminated against. Is it to late to do something about
it? I hope it isn't, they really hurt me by doing so.
    MY STORY:
I worked for the company for three years. I am the only
female who worked outside the office. I was a wood worker.
I was third in seniority. The company hired on a new guy.
This guy was inexperienced in the construction field we
did. Along with two co-workers I was training this guy. I
injured my back on payday, my last day there. I happen to
get a look at the new guys paycheck when he opened it. I
noticed that he was hired on there with a higher pay than
what I was making after three years working there.
I wnt to my supervisor and asked him what was up, why was
he getting more pay than me and he just started and was
still being trained. My Supervisor said "Well the cost of
living has gone up." I asked him what made him think the
cost of living has not gone up for me too? I walked out of
there. Do I still have time to do something about this?
