Post: Written Review/violation of laws????

Is it ok for a manager to state in your written annual review that you had a serious medical challenge (i.e. cancer)? I understand if you have problems performing they're allowed to state such, however it was actually noted that I handled it well with minimal disruption, but I am concerned that very private information about my disease was put into my written review? What does that have to do with performance reviews, especially since it was noted that I handled it well. I'm very concerned that future potential positions will not be offered to me if other managers read I had cancer. Are they allowed to share my private health information with others, especially in a written review, especially when there are not performance issues? Thanks.
