    Post: UNFAIR TEMAINATION

    Posted by Zoe on 1/21/06

I am looking for advise on a termination/firing that I am
involved in. Last week when my work day had ended I brought
into a brief meeting with HR, my supervisor and operations
manager. Afterwards I was terminated and escorted out the door.
Basically, what it comes down to, I have on numerous times
gone to my immediate supervisor about a new employee hired
mid June who is not up to speed, slacking in her work. (now
almost 7 months into the job she should be up to speed)
Although, I am lead of the group I must be sure the work is
completed. As a lead of a group shouldnt you go to the
immediate supervisor with issues. t think this is unfair,
I get no extra $ to be lead, yes I did volunteer for
it(unfortunately) but what is a "lead person" to do then?.
I was "written up" in 2 months ago about "picking on" this
employee. If I continued to "pick on" this individual I
would be terminated. I do not feel I need to do the work
for both of us when I know that she is paid more then me.
The prior week , I had an hour meeting with my supervisor
and she asked, "can I work with her?". I said "No" and
maybe I am not interested in this "lead" position.
Another issue they seem to have a problem with is I had an
9am MD visit the morning of termination and left a completed
request late the prior day, that I would like flex time for
this late arrival to work. My operations Manger didnt like
    this.
I have had no harsh works, no cursing, nothing towards them
in anyway. I mentioned in our brief termination meeting,
"That I have been employed for almost 4 1/2 years and do my
work well". She said, "yes you are fast on the phones".
(this is a call center). When leaving this room I said,
"I guess you will not have any employees left". Nothing
mean nasty because I really liked my job, the people, other
then the ones that get paid and do not work. I would like to
write a letter to the owner to say how much I liked the job
and wish the ending didnt happen like this,
This operations manager took over last summer and there has
been many quitting employees and terminations as if she is
getting rid of the old staff and didnt like me..
Do you think as a business individual you would place me on
a one man team if I had problems getting along with others?
I have 4 + years of work experience on this job. I was not
    given this opportunity.
Please advise what my legal action would be on this company
    to get my job back.
    Thank You.
