Post: My termination

Posted by cv on 2/07/06
I was employed in company A for about 3 years 1996-99 in their computer operations dept. Throughout '98, Mr. X who was the head of a consulting firm and who was basically the defacto head of IS in Company A, asked me if I would like to come work for him and learn programming. In Jan.99, I accepted his offer. I was given a 4 week crash course in programming and then started working for various clients. In 2004, Mr. X left the firm and took a position as CIO of Company A. On Jan 20 of this year I was terminated to do lack of work. The new head of the consulting firm did not have any real connection to me. I contacted Mr. X to see if I could return to Company A in some capacity since that was where I came from and where I would still be if I declined his offer. (The people I trained to my job before I left are still employed there.) Mr. X basically turned his back on me and said he could not help me out. I do not have a application or resume on file with the consulting firm and they did not offer me severence pay. This consulting firm his still controlling the IS dept at Company A. Is there a any case here?
