Post: EMI Share Options Scheme

Posted by Bob Ellenson on 1/14/07
I was employed by a UK company through their US office in Chicago IL in 2001. I was granted stock options prior to the company IPO on the UK exchange. I have tried for years to get information from the company on how to retrieve my options but they changed accountants 4 times in 6 years – and every time I had to start over again with the newest accountant. The value of the shares is now very substantial. Now I am no longer employed by the company and they are closing their US office. I am not sure I will ever get my stock. I am fairly certain the company violated some employment law by not providing any written info on the options program (other than the original letter notifying me of the shares – signed by the CEO). I have gone to the IL Attorney General’s site but can’t find info on compensation. Any thoughts? Thanks – Bob Ellenson-
