Yes, NY requires certainly employees to be paid
    weekly: "PAYMENT OF WAGES
Factory or other manual workers must be paid their wages
weekly. The employer has seven days after the end of the
week in which the wages are earned to pay the employee.
However, a manual worker employed by a non-profit making
organization may be paid in accordance with the agreed terms
of employment, but not less frequently than semi-monthly."

If your employer is in violation of the law, you can file a
complaint with NY's DOL. It is unlawful for an employer to
fire or otherwise retaliate against any employee exercising
his/her protected right to file a good faith complaint with
    a government agency.
