Post: Indiana Union Shop

I have tried to understand the Beck Law...core dues members as opposed to full members of a Union, but still haven't fully comprehended it. Indiana is not a right to work state. If a company is considered a Union Shop...ie employees must join a Union after a certain number of days of employment...must the Union notify the potential members of their right to be Beck objectors BEFORE they sign up, after they sign up, or is it up to the employees to ask the right questions? I would truly appreciate a timely reply and any additional information you can give me that will make this easier to understand. I would like to comply with the law, but if I can't understand it...
