Well, Vivian, actually, I do not think about you at all.
And, you certainly do not know what "side" I'm on, if any at all.
I don't "take sides" on a chatboard; but, if I did, a step-parent,
like yourself, almost never has standing in any custody dispute
despite the step-parent's (and it's a step-mother like you about
95% of the time) persistent claims to the contrary. And, for
obvious reasons, the step-parent usually offers such a lop-sided
version of the facts that it doesn't take long to see right
through the step-parents motives.
Whether or not I have any "knowledge of custody issues," I do have
knowledge enough to know that one never, ever deliberately
disobeys a court order unless there are health/safety issues where
one bioparent can deny the other visitation where there is a court
order that the bioparent is entitled to visitation. One does not
need legal knowledge to know that.
And yours was the classic case where a step-parent steps in to
argue something where he or she has no standing and where the
issues are between the two biological parents -- whether it's
biomom withholding visitation or whether it's biodad withholding
visitation. Custodial parents do not get to make arbitrary
decisions to withhold visitation in vilation of a court order
unless there exists a bona fide emergency to do so -- and it
better be bona fide.
And, fyi, there are no right or wrong responses on this board.
Each responder is entitled to write what he wants, so long as it
does not violate the rules of the site.
Since this board is not for family law issues, I will not engage
you in the debate you seek and because I'm through with this thread.
