If it ain't in writing & no credible witnesses to the events
& there's no recording, e-mail, etc: It didn't happen.

It all boils down to you said-they said. That's a tie; tie
goes to the defendant if you sue them civilly. Generally,
your burden of proof is 50% + feather.
