"Basically I am just looking for advice, and wondering if I
have a case against my new previous employer for wrongful
termination?" Huh? If anybody has a case it's your State's
UC Division against you and your employer for making a
fraudulent unemployment claim. You were on
maternity/parental leave however you and your employer
agreed that you'd be "fired" so you could collect
unemployment benefits.
If you want to know whether your noncompete is valid, you
need to show it to a local attorney.
